HOME ABOUT PROJECTS BEWARE OF GREEKS 2023 Ancient Modern CONTACT	‘Beware of Greeks bearing gifts’ is a phrase spoken by the Trojan priest Laocoön referring to the Trojan Horse used by the Greeks during the Trojan War. This project is a photographic interpretation of this theme by the photographer Dr Robert Organ during a visit to the Greek island of Rhodes in 2023. The project is split into two series: 1. ‘Ancient’ This explores the architecture and landscape of ancient Rhodes. 2. ‘Modern This explores the architecture and culture of modern Rhodes. Consumerism and provision for the tourist trade are prominent. All of the photographs were documentary in nature but attempts were made to make many them aesthetically pleasing with an emphasis of composition, colour, form and perspective. All the photographs were taken with digital cameras. .
